PowerTalks III: Boost je podiumconcept

Beste podiummaker,

Je bent een beginnend kunstenaar (theater, dans, comedy, performance, slam poetry, hiphop, cross-overs, …) met een straf concept voor een voorstelling. Je bent op zoek naar mensen waarmee je over dat idee kan praten – professionele gesprekspartners met heel wat ervaring, een open geest en een diverse achtergrondkennis. Je zou graag samen zitten met verschillende professionals uit het veld, zodat je je concept kan aftoetsen aan verschillende perspectieven.

Zoek niet langer. Stap van 9 tot 13 september 2019 in de derde editie van PowerTalks en geef je podiumproject een verdiepende boost. PowerTalks vindt plaats tijdens het TheaterFestival in Gent.

WAT?

• Carrouselsysteem: Vijf avonden waarop je elke avond met een andere maker of dramaturg in gesprek gaat. In een rustige, intieme en informele setting kunnen jullie 2 à 3u praten. Om elkaar ook onderling beter te leren kennen, start elke avond met samen eten.
• Jouw gesprekspartner brengt teksten, boeken, films, methodieken en netwerk mee – alles wat relevant kan zijn voor jouw concept.

De gesprekspartners, jullie sparring partners, zullen zijn: Cecilia Kuska (AR), Selm Wenselaers, Matthias Velle, Maryam K. Hedayat en Alesandra Seutin. >> Klik HIER voor meer info over hen.

WAT IS HET NIET?

• Geen speeddating of pitch
• Geen financiële of productionele ondersteuning

WAT IS HET WEL?

• een inspirerende verdieping en een stimulans tot zelfreflectie
• een gezellig samenzijn en een interessante uitwisseling tussen mensen met een verschillende achtergrond

VOOR WIE?

• Deelnemers hebben een concreet concept voor een podiumvoorstelling klaar en willen doorpraten over de inhoud, vorm, …
• Ze kunnen daarvoor nog niet terecht bij een professionele productiepartner
• Leeftijd, achtergrond, genre (binnen de brede podiumkunsten), wel of geen opleiding in de kunsten, en taal zijn van geen belang

WAAR EN WANNEER?

Van 9 t.e.m. 13 september telkens van 18u tot ca. 21u in Gent (ihkv Het Theaterfestival). Deelname is enkel mogelijk aan alle 5 de avonden. 5 makers / dramaturgen engageren zich om 5 avonden hun ‘brains’ mee in te zetten voor de 5 projecten. We zoeken dan ook deelnemers die dit ten volle kunnen en willen benutten.

HOE DEELNEMEN?

Stuur een korte motivatie (wie ben je, waarom doe je mee) en een concreet voorstel van je project (max. 1 A4 of een videoboodschap van max. 1,5 min) naar roxette@mestizoartsplatform.be en dit vóór woensdag 1 mei. De 5 geëngageerde gesprekspartners maken na grondig doornemen van jullie inzendingen de selectie van de 5 deelnemers. Je krijgt ten laatste op donderdag 30 mei van ons antwoord.

[EN] Boost your performance concept with the PowerTalks III

Dear artist,

You are a starting creator (theatre, dance, comedy, slam, hiphop, cross-over, …) and you have an extraordinary concept in mind for a performance. You are looking for interesting people with whom you can talk about this idea – professional people with a lot of experience, an open mind and a broad background knowledge. You would even like it better to sit together with several people to bounce off your ideas to different viewpoints.

Look no further. Join the second edition of our PowerTalks from 9 to 13 September 2019 and give an in-depth boost to your performing project.

WHAT IT IS

• Carousel system: Five evenings on which you meet each time a different creator or dramaturge. In a quiet, intimate setting you can talk 2 to 3 hours. We start every evening with a dinner all together.
• Your sparring partner furnishes texts, books, films, methodologies and network – everything that can be relevant for your project

Your sparring partners would be: Cecilia Kuska (producer, manager and curator from Argentina), Selm Wenselaers (writer, dramaturge), Matthias Velle (dramaturge), Maryam K. Hedayat (film maker, writer) and Alesandra Seutin (choreographer, dancer, teacher). >> More info about them: HERE

WHAT IT ISN’T

• No speeddating or pitch
• No financial or productional support but inspiring and deepening support

WHO?

• Participants already have a concept for a performance on stage and want to discuss the substantive dramaturgy
• They cannot yet talk this over with a professional production partner
• Age, background, genre (within the wide range of performing arts), an arts education or not,  and language are of no importance

WHERE AND WHEN?

From 9 to 13 September 2019 from 18.00 to ca. 21.00 in Ghent (as part of the Theaterfestival). Participants engage themselves for no less than 5 evenings! We are looking for participants who can make full use of this.

HOW PARTICIPATE?

Send a short motivation (who you are, why you want to take part) and a concrete proposal of your project (max. 1 A4 or a video-message of  max. 1,5 min)) to roxette@mestizoartsplatform.be before Wednesday 1st of May. The 5 engaged sparring partners will thoroughly read all submissions to make the selection of the 5 participants. We’ll reply by Thursday 30th of May at the latest.

Vous avez un concept artistique que vous souhaitez présenter (théâtre, danse, comédie, slam, hiphop, cross-over, …) et vous êtes débutant? Vous êtes à la recherche de contacts professionnels qui ont une bonne connaissance du milieu culturel, de l’expérience et l’esprit ouvert pour discuter de ce projet? Vous aimez échanger avec d’autres artistes, dramaturges afin de confronter votre projet à leurs idées?

Ne cherchez pas plus longtemps. Rejoignez-nous du 3 au 9 septembre 2019 pour la seconde édition des PowerTalks. PowerTalks aura lieu au TheaterFestival à Gand.

LA FORMULE

• Le « système carrousel »: Pendant 5 soirs vous rencontrez un autre créateur ou dramaturge. Dans un context intime vous pouvez parler 2 à 3 heures. Chaque soir on commence avec un petit dîner entre tous.
• Votre partenaire apporte des ressources liées à votre projet: textes, livres, films, méthodes, contacts – tout qui peut être util pour votre projet

• Ceci n’est pas un speed-dating ou un exercice pitch
• C’est pas un soutien financier ou productionnel

POUR QUI?

• Des artistes qui ont déjà un concept concret à présenter
• Qui souhaitent discuter de son contenu dramaturgique mais ne savent pas avec qui le faire
• Votre âge, origine, genre artistique ou langue n’ont pas d’importance, non plus si tu as une formation artistique si ou non.
  

OU ET QUAND

Du 3 au 9 septembre 2019 de 18.00 à 21.00 h à Gand (dans le cadre du Theaterfestival flamand). Les participants s’engagent pour être presents tous les 5 soirs! On cherche des participants qui peuvent se mettre à full!

COMMENT PARTICIPER?

Envoyez une motivation (qui es tu, pourquoi veux-tu participer) et une présentation concrète de votre concept (max. 1 A4 ou un vidéo message de max. 1,5 min) à roxette@mestizoartsplatform.be avant le mercredi 1 de mai. Les 5 créateurs/dramaturges feront une sélection méticuleuse des 5 participants et nous vous répondrons au plus tard le Jeudi 30 de mai.
