3D is een voorstelling over de uitdagingen waar een nieuwkomer tegenaan kijkt en de innerlijke strijd en drempels die hij ervaart terwijl hij probeert te integreren in een samenleving die hem op veel momenten vreemd lijkt. Of, hoe deze figuur zich probeert te concentreren op het correct en succesvol voortzetten van zijn leven. Het permanente interne conflict tussen de menselijke drie-eenheid (geest, emotie, instinct) wordt belicht op een komische manier. Ongeacht je specifieke situatie – het interne conflict is een universeel gegeven.
Voice Mechelen is een artistiek collectief met acteurs die zijn opgeleid in Syrië en Libanon waar ze ook professioneel actief waren. Met hun artistieke projecten willen ze hun blik op het leven delen met een nieuw publiek en verbinden.
NASSER MARDNLY is een Syrische acteur en schrijver. Hij studeerde af aan de Faculteit voor Schone Kunsten – Departement Acteren in Libanon (2006). In het Midden-Oosten was hij actief in het theater, radio, film en TV (als acteur, schrijver en producent van TV programma’s) en won tal van prijzen als acteur. Hij is oprichter en bestuurslid van VOICE MECHELEN, realiseerde in 2018 het programma Stories From Europe (Al Madar Network, België 2018) en beheerde de kunstkatern van de Al-Madar krant.
Basim Akasha speelde in Syrië enkele bijrollen in TV en Films. In België merkte hij dat het belangrijk was om te werken aan de overdracht van de Syrische cultuur hier. In 2017 richtte hij samen met Nasser Mardnly VOICE MECHELEN op om de Syrische cultuur via het verenigingsleven en culturele evenementen te delen met andere gemeenschappen. Watar was een eerste concert dat ze organiseerden met Arabische, Europese en Koerdische muzikanten. Typerend aan VOICE MECHELEN is dat ze de universele kracht van podiumkunsten inzetten om te integreren en te verbinden.

3D is a performance about the challenges a newcomer faces and the inner struggles and barriers he experiences while trying to integrate into a society that at many times seems strange to him. Or, how this figure tries to concentrate on getting on with his life correctly and successfully. The permanent internal conflict between the human trinity (mind, emotion, instinct) is highlighted in a comical way. Regardless of your specific situation – the internal conflict is a universal fact.
Voice Mechelen is an artistic collective with actors who were trained in Syria and Lebanon where they were also professionally active. With their artistic projects, they want to share their view on life with a new audience and connect.
NASSER MARDNLY is a Syrian actor and writer. He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts – Department of Acting in Lebanon (2006). In the Middle East, he was active in theatre, radio, film and TV (as an actor, writer and producer of TV programmes) and won numerous awards as an actor. He is founder and board member of VOICE MECHELEN, realised the programme Stories From Europe in 2018 (Al Madar Network, Belgium 2018) and managed the art section of the Al-Madar newspaper.
In Syria, BASIM AKASHA played some supporting roles in TV and Films. In Belgium, he noticed that it was important to work on the transmission of Syrian culture here. In 2017, together with Nasser Mardnly, he founded VOICE MECHELEN to share Syrian culture with other communities through community life and cultural events. Watar was a first concert they organised with Arab, European and Kurdish musicians. Typical of VOICE MECHELEN is that they use the universal power of performing arts to integrate and connect.
