NL // VIER MUREN. De oude wereld komt ten einde. De nieuwe staat voor deur. Overal op de wereld woeden er conflicten en proberen mensen los te breken van oude structuren of er juist naar terug te keren. Een deel van de mensen houdt krampachtig vast aan het oude en verzet zich uit angst en woede tegen iedere verandering. Een andere groep kijkt vooruit, maar lijkt het goede uit het verleden te vergeten. Vier Muren is een hiphop-ritueel dat plaats creëert voor de woede, angst, rouw, viering en hoop die komt kijken bij het verlies van een oude wereld en de verwelkoming van een onbekende toekomst. Een bizarre muzikale mix van hiphop-mantra’s, slam-koren, krijsende gitaren, knallende drums en freestyle-profeties.
Marios Bellas is theatermaker, performer en muzikant. Hij studeerde in 2021 af aan de regieopleiding (RITCS) met theatraal ritueel “O”, dat mensen in volle lockdown liet samen komen rond de dood. Na zijn afstuderen speelde hij mee in EXTREME / MALECANE (Paola Pisciottano/Théâtre National), MARS en SEGEN (beide Youyougroup/Myriam van Imschoot) en Halleluja (Fleur Khani/detheatermaker). In 2022 verbond hij zich aan multidisciplinair collectief SOCHA, waarmee hij als muzikant, maker en performer de #ON FIRE -reeks (theater arsenaal) mee in de touwen zette. Eind 2023 kwam zijn eerste single Brussel uit. Daarnaast werkt hij aan zijn debuutalbum Honger.

EN // 4 WALLS The old world is coming to an end. At its doorstep is the new one. All over the world, conflicts are raging and people are trying to break free from old structures or return to them. One section of people clings frenetically to the old, resisting any change out of fear and anger. Another group looks forward, but seems to forget the good things of the past.
Four Walls is a hip-hop ritual that creates space for the anger, fear, mourning, celebration and hope that comes with the loss of an old world and the welcoming of an unknown future. A bizarre musical mix of hip-hop mantras, slam choruses, screeching guitars, banging drums and freestyle prophecies.
Marios Bellas is a theatre-maker, performer and musician. He starred amongst others inEXTREME / MALECANE (Paola Pisciottano/Théâtre National), MARS and SEGEN (both Youyougroup/Myriam van Imschoot). Next season he’ll star in Hannibal & Burning Cities (KVS/hetpaleis, Junior Mthombeni). In 2022, he linked up with multidisciplinary collective SOCHA, with which he co-founded the #ON FIRE series (theater Arsenaal) as musician, creator and performer. His first single Brussel was released in late 2023. He is also working on his debut album Honger.
