La source d’inspiration de FREE DANCE ESCAPE vient d’une vidéo TikTok. Cette vidéo constitue la base de la recherche sur le jeu, le rythme et l’improvisation pour 6 danseur·euse·x·s. Free dance escape réunit des interprètes de plusieurs disciplines dans un espace qui leur permet d’explorer la notion de connexion à l’autre.
Chaque mouvement est un mouvement collectif et le groupe est divisé en paires interchangeables. Le contact se fait sans cesse par plusieurs niveaux ludiques et par le regard. En ligne, on dit que les utilisateur·ice·x·s sont connecté·e·x·s.
Le projet s’intéresse à cette notion de “connexion” et à ce qu’elle signifie dans le réel. Dans un rapport d’attirance et de critique vis-à-vis de ces applications, le projet tente un hacking.
Né du besoin de retourner à l’autre, à l’empathie et à la bienveillance, FREE DANCE ESCAPE tente de dessiner de nouveaux espaces de rencontre qui agissent comme une zone sûre, imaginaire et solidaire.
Le projet initial invite 6 performeur·euse·x·s. De ce collectif matrice, Lorena invite des paires à former un duo sur scène. Le projet navigue donc entre performance collective et duo.
Lorena Spindler (elle) / endouce est une artiste hybride bruxelloise. Elle conceptualise des propositions artistiques sous forme de texte, chorégraphie, performance, mise en scène, clip pour la scène rap, film expérimental. Lors de ses études de théâtre au Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, elle faisait partie du collectif Chapter One (a.o. L0S1 – Zinnema, 2015). En parallèle de ses études en écriture à l’INSAS, en 2018, elle met en scène Softness 1 au C12. L’année suivante elle met en scène Softness 2. Ce sont deux formes qui explorent la compétitivité pour 3 performeur·euse·s à travers le freestyle et danse, le théâtre physique, la parole improvisée, le rap, le son. Elle s’immerge ensuite dans la chorégraphie et la danse en tant qu’autodidacte et à travers le cours de danse et pratique chorégraphiques à Charleroi danse. Son travail s’attelle à se poser des questions sur des phénomènes sociologiques immédiats.

EN// FREE DANCE ESCAPE was inspired by a TikTok video. It forms the basis for the research into play, rhythm and improvisation for 6 dancers. FREE DANCE ESCAPE brings dancers from different disciplines together in a space which allows them to explore the notion of connecting to each other.
All movements are collective movements and the group is divided into interchangeable pairs. There is continuous contact through several levels of play and the eyes. Online, users are said to be connected.
This work focuses on this notion of ‘connection’ and what it means in the real world. In a relationship of attraction and criticism towards these applications, the project attempts a hacking.
Resulting from the need to return to the other, to empathy and kindness, FREE DANCE ESCAPE attempts to draw new meeting spaces that act as a safe, imaginary and solidary zone.
The initial project invites 6 performers. From this matrix collective, Lorena invites pairs to form a duo on stage. The project thus navigates between collective performance and duo.
Lorena Spindler (she) is a Brussels-based hybrid artist. She conceptualizes artistic proposals in the form of text, choreography, performance, staging, clip for the rap scene, experimental film. Her work focuses on questions about immediate sociological phenomena.
During her theatre studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, she was part of the Chapter One collective (a.o. L0S1 – Zinnema, 2015). In parallel to her studies in writing at INSAS, in 2018 she directed Softness 1 at C12. The following year she directed Softness 2. These are two forms that explore competitiveness for 3 performers through freestyle and dance, physical theatre, improvised speech, rap, sound. She then immersed herself in choreography and dance as an autodidact and through the dance and choreographic practice course at Charleroi danse.
