10 dagen huist collectief Osei Bantu ism Mestizo Arts Platform in Rataplan. Ze onderzoeken verschillende verhalen die ze vertalen in muziek, dans, performance en fashion en nodigen ook vrienden WANP en Straatrijk uit.
Osei Bantu is een jong en multidisciplinair collectief die een eigen stempel drukt op de hedendaagse kunsten. Als je mee wil zijn met de nieuwe lichting, de gasten die de kunsten een nieuw gezicht geven, kom dan zeker kijken naar Short Stories. Deze avond is een happening, een beleving van verschillende toonmomenten, dj’s, little food & drinks en een mix van stijlen.

Osei Bantu brengt een fictieverhaal met dans, beweging en fysiek acteerwerk. Gaandeweg ontdek je dat ze niet in de show zitten, dan wel in een repetitie in hun eigen living. Alledaagse problemen duiken op en verstoren de verhaallijn. Het publiek kan zo een blik werpen op de making of van een voorstelling waarin 4 vrienden worstelen in hun creatieproces als mens, als artiest.

Mestizo Arts Platform en Rataplan maken ruimte voor onderzoek om nieuwe vormen van theater, performance, dans en beeldende kunst te brengen. De artiesten geven invulling aan een theaterhuis volgens eigen regels. Zo toverden de Fokovisten van De loods des doods Rataplan al om in een apocalyptisch spookhuis met Ratakwaad (nov ’17) en deed Enrique Noviello een muzikaal project Gdansk – a jump into history (feb ’18).

Osei Bantu brings a fantasy story in the form of dance, movement and fysical acting. But somewhere along the way you find out that we are not actually in the story but in a rehearsal in our own livingroom. Where little everyday problems start showing and interupting the storyline. The audience gets to see a glimps of the making of the performance where 4 friends struggle to create within the context of everyday life as humans, as artists.
