I’m Andrea Gallo Rosso, born in 1979, I started my work as choreographer in 2010 in Italy, scouted and followed by Mosaico Danza / festival INTERPLAY. With my current project, I’ve been selected as artist-in-residence at the ‘Centro Nazionale di Produzione della Danza Scenario Pubblico / Compagnia Zappalà Danza in Sicily. I have been chosen for the Italian young showcase “Vetrina della Giovane Danza d’Autore” in 2014 and 2015 by the network AnticorpiXL. At international level, my proposal was presented for the network Les Repérages -Rencontre- “Internationale de la jeune chorégraphie” at CDCN, Le Gymnase in 2013 and in 2014 I took part at the biennial tour Dance Roads (action sustained also by EU’s EACEA / Cooperaction Projects). In 2014 I was finalist at the prize Premio Equilibrio in Roma. Finally today, my work has been presented in 10 foreign Countries. In the last 5 years I also started projects directed at socially fragile groups of our society, which brought me to be working as a teacher for the Academic year 2019/2020 at the Master MADIS in dance and social inclusion, offered by the Italian National Academy of Dance AND – Accademia Nazionale di Danza. As performer/dancer, I trained mainly in Italy, initially in modern Horton technique and then contemporary; I continued developing the study of contact, floor work and partnering through workshops spread between Italy and Belgium.
