For the sixth year in a row, WIPCOOP is also heading to Brussels.
This year, Kaaitheater will welcome artists from the Brussels scene to the Kaaistudio’s on 27 and 28 October to show an audience of professionals and curious spectators where they are in the development of their new stage creations. From now on, the Kaaitheater and the KVS will organise the event alternately every year.
Lucas Katangila, One Nation Crew, Inès El Bakari & Jad Zeitouni, Jenny Onya Ambukiyenyi, Yousra Dahry and Briana Ashley Stuart will each present 30 minutes of their Work In Progress. Afterwards, they will talk for an hour with a group of playwrights, workshops, producers and programmers about their work and possible support. During these breaks, other artists talk about their new works, initiatives or projects in discussions with the audience.
WIPCOOP – the Work In Progress Cooperative of Mestizo Arts Platform – is a year-round development course in Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent and Mechelen. Its main objective? To make new artistic work visible from the potential of the cooperative, to establish a dialogue about it and to connect artists and organisations so that this work can be developed and performed once completed.
WIPCOOP = creating a space for new voices, stories, forms and languages in the performing arts. A cross-city co-production, in which the arts sector is tuned in to what is developing in the rich ground of our cities and a network in which artists find support for the development of their work.
Work In Progress happens during daytime (10 am – 5 pm) and entrance is free. Reservations are possible from September, more info soon.
