Yipoon Chiem – B**** + Milo Slayers – Monstrare et/ou Monere

Brussels-based artist Yiphoon Chiem combines influences from martial arts such as Kungfu, classic Khmer dance, hip hop and breakdance, weaving them together to create a highly idiosyncratic style.
B**** honours the archetype of the woman of multiple powers. Travel along through the history of injured women and tortured and disowned mothers. A solo in striptease mode, an unveiling of the masks we wear.
The performance also explores the shadow side of our selves. A walk through the various phases of life, and that which follows: death, the spirit realm, and rebirth.
Monstrare et/ou Monere
In this solo performance, Milo Slayers, introduces you to a fictional monster who goes through various phases of mostruosity. Simultaneously, a multitude of perspectives is revealed before your eyes.
Milo is a master student of Arts and Choreography at the Brussels Royal Academy for Fine Arts. With his collective The Slayers, he experiments with and researches physical urban practices. Milo also studies other artistic disciplines like video, photography, music, … to expand his own dance practice. Those who attend Coloured Swans 3: Harriet’s reMix at the start of the season will also see Milo at work as one of the talented dancers Moya Michael selected to collaborate with.
