MATCHOMBE Michel Kiyombo — WIPCOOP PLAYS 2021

MATCHOMBE Michel Kiyombo

A dance performance in which Michel Kiyombo looks back on his youth in Congo, his journey home to Belgium and, meanwhile, discovers fatherhood. On stage he tells about his birth and how he came to earth as a small, vulnerable creature. By dancing, he grew into the man he is today. But what is left of the fragility in him? Now he is a father himself, but what about his vulnerability?

Concept and acting: Michel Kiyombo – Music: Youness Unik – Coaching: Tijen Lawson and Greet Vissers – Translation: Greet Vissers and Somalia Williamson – Production: kunstZ.
