This session will focus on navigating the cultural scene, engaging with artists @junior_akwety and @giov2612, to explore their networking strategies. Additionally, you’ll gain insights from cultural workers Anastasia from @anakuvzw, Mulanga from Mestizo Arts Platform, Alyssa from @trillvzw, and Sarah from @viernulvier.gent.

Just last Monday, Eli Mathieu Bustos arrived in Berlin for a 2-week residency with our colleagues at @tatwerk_berlin. During these 2 weeks, Eli dives into a new research project and will lead a workshop. ++++ 7 & 8 June Tatwerk programmed the performance 'Have a Safe Travel'.

A little word from Eli, about this residency:
"J'ai eu la chance de rencontrer Aurora, la co-directrice de TATWERK en octobre 2022 lors de la première sortie de résidence de HAVE A SAFE TRAVEL. J'ai beaucoup de reconnaissance pour la direction que prend ma vie depuis que j'ai rencontré toute l'équipe de WIPCOOP. Voyager pour danser, voyager pour déconstruire notre rapport aux polices dans différente villes d'Europe est quelque chose que je n'aurais jamais pu imaginé. Merci à toutes les personnes qui rendent cette aventure possible à Berlin ce mois-ci!"

Eli's new research is about:
The issues of slavery and colonialism are part of our institutional systems, the systems that govern us, the systems to which we pledge allegiance even if sometimes without much motivation. These stakes are ghosts forced into immateriality by the powers that be, portrayed as winners in our modern history books.

Matter being the vocabulary of the living, this residency will be my first attempt to restore a little tangibility to these ghosts. Lend them bodies, voices, spaces in which to unfold to say and do, and so participate in the construction of a space where interpretation serves to focus our decisions in a direction that combines ethics and empathy.
