Fokovism is a new art movement, derived from the English expression fuck off.
Artists Spitlart/Spitler, Dimi, Rex and Redouan are known as the underground layers and have their Shed of Death as their base of operations. It is a free port with its own rules and forms for the development of new repertoire. MESTIZO ARTS PLATFORM (MAP) invited these Fokovists to transform Rataplan into a “haunted house” in which you, the audience, are confronted with your own demons. Over a ten-day period, the Fokovists were given free rein to experiment with their obscure trash creatures, slam poetry, beats and collaborations with Duchesse Divine, among others
MAP and Rataplan make space for research to bring new forms of theater, performance, dance and visual arts. The artists are fleshing out a theater house under new rules. The results are not recorded, nor is the audience experience, because that interaction is also part of this quest. Similarly, we will further collaborate this season with musician-performer Enrique Noviello and artistic collective Osei Bantu (dance, performance, music, events).
