Premiere The One (Et Demi) Man Show – Salim Haouach & Pitcho Womba Konga

An (almost) one man show. With a man, a real one. One and a half men if we are sweet. A half if we are critical. Anyway, he steals the show. And fans love that. Some say he is hot. And fans love that. And the women? Do they like that? Doesn’t matter. Or is it? It is He who has the word, it is He who is heard. That’s how it goes when you’re a public personality, right? Then you say what people want to hear from you, right? What about her?

Yes, I am familiar. I am successful . Yes, I took the first step . And the second.

Being a man. Being successful. Popular are. Having followers. Being the man. Demanding and getting attention. And then take initiative. Because that’s what real men do, right?

Directed by Pitcho Womba Konga, this solo performance offers, in times of #MeToo, an unseen and intriguing insight into transgressive behavior and toxic masculinity. She takes the audience to the heart of the problem. Sexologist Zina Hamzaoui’s contribution and Laryssa Kim’s soundscape blend with Salim Haouach’s disruptive acting and Nihale Touati’s voice.

The performance (45 min.) will be followed by a 30-minute (online!) follow-up discussion (FR/NL) with Pitcho Womba Konga (director and co-author of the play), Salim Haouach (actor and co-author) and Zina Hamzaoui (midwife and relationship therapist), moderated by Kristin Rogghe (KVS dramaturge).
