11:30 – 12:00 Nina Muñoz – La Ave What if we disconnect gender from the body and connect it to time or language? Can we rethink our binary humanity? Through this dance theater performance, Nina Muñoz seeks to reintegrate the binary structure of gender into a multidimensional concept. The protagonist goes on the run, escapes a tragic fate and sets out to find himself. A cinematic dream à la Lynch, a macabre road trip AND love story, a nod to Oliver Stone’s Natural Born Killers and Gregg Araki’s Doom Generation. A story about how to love AND survive. Jihan Imago is a visual artist and Trans* activist who is devoting himself to a new discipline with this dance performance.

3 x Work In Progress – 29.10 @ Kaaistudios

10:00 – 10:30 Salim Haouach – The One (Et Demi) Man Show Who today knows what a man is or should be? To what extent are gender roles determined by social and cultural frameworks? As a man, what to do with the diverse and changing expectations around masculinity? And how do you speak to other people about that? In this performance, structured like a TV show, actor Salim Haouach questions not only his own conceptions of manhood, but also those of the audience.

11:30 – 12:00 Mouss Sarr – Black In Black Mouss Sarr departs from his personal feeling of falling between 2 worlds as a Belgian with Senegalese roots. While dancing, he interprets texts by an African-American writer Neiel Israel whose experiences he mostly (h)acknowledges despite the distance. A performance about identity, racism, colonialism and communitarianism in light of current events.

Mouss Sarr is a choreographer, dancer (hip-hop, dancehall and krump), founder & artistic director of Timiss, a platform where he provides space for urban dancers.

14:00 – 14:30 Andrea Gallo Rosso – Pièce Per CINQUE [COVID versie] As a result of the socio-economic situation, a large number of people are moving around the world in mass migrations. The immediate consequence in our society is a strong sense of fear and conflict. Pièce Per Cinque is an artistic research and multidisciplinary dance performance about the encounter between “new” and “old” citizens.
