Video ‘Gdansk – A jump into history’ by Enrique Noviello

MESTIZO ARTS PLATFORM (Fiëbre vzw) & Rataplan gave musician-performer Enrique Noviello 10 days of space at theater house Rataplan to work on a musical theater research project “Gdansk – A jump into history. Art & Culture Mediation students from Kdg Hogeschool Antwerp made an aftermovie of the show moment.

A musician, producer and playwright, Enrique set out to tell the story of a Polish worker from Gdansk, Lech Walesa, who caused a domino effect that changed the world profoundly. During his research, Kike explores different art disciplines, engages with other creators and brings his story into a musical, performative and audio-visual tone moment. An initial screening at Rataplan was followed by a 30′ show moment (23/02/2018) with an afterword with audience. In the “Polish bar” for the occasion, you could have a drink afterwards with some more live music.

Enrique Noviello has 2 bands: El Juntacadáveres(www.eljuntacadaveres.com) and Murga Armada (musical street band). He also created music for performances Amigos and Hannibal (t, arsenaal), Rumble in da Jungle (SINCOLLECTIEF, Arenberg, MAF, t,arsenaal), Sound of the City (Madam Fortuna), Mag ik een danske? (HETPALEIS) and Kamyon (KVS). With Junior Mthombeni, he also composed a CD for the children’s book Verre Vrienden (by Michael De Cock/Gerda Dendooven). MAP and Rataplan make space for research to bring new forms of theater, performance, dance and visual arts. The artists are fleshing out a theater house under new rules. The results are not recorded, nor is the audience experience, because that interaction is also part of this quest.
