With Meer dan (kna)ap, Elyne Notebaert aims to increase the visibility and understanding of persons with disabilities in the performing arts and have an in-depth conversation with audiences. Addressing themes of loneliness, bullying and negative self-image, she allows the audience to look into her heart in a funny and poignant way. However, warm and connecting topics such as self-acceptance, self-development and group dynamics are not left out either. Meer dan (kna)ap is more than just a monologue. Elyne Notebaert has had a deep love for fiction and the world of performing arts. Acting, fantasizing and having fun together are some of the things that make her heart beat faster. As a child, she was introduced to classics such as Grease and Elvis Presley during theater camps. As an adult, she further developed her love for theater and film through workshops and master classes, with Simon De Vos, Nicole Beutler (NL), Daria Bukvic (NL) and Aza Declercq, among others. She was later introduced to improv theater by Charlotte De Metsenaere and Marieke Van Laar (NL).

In addition to her passion for playing (improv) theater, she brightens from singing, dancing and women’s circles. In 2018, Elyne made her debut with a role in “Dearest” by theater collective SKaGeN. Three years later, she decided to cross national borders to participate in “Elcerlijc” by URLAND (NL). She most recently starred in the movie Zillion as Zundaysact and in the second season of the TV series F*** You Very Very Much she played the role of Greta. Meer dan (kna)ap she is developing with coach and director Aïcha Cissé.
