Week 2 at wpZimmer is over! This week we were joined by Melisa Diktaş and Vianney Adriaens.
About Melisa
We will remember the second week of our residency at wpZimmer by the beating drums in the background. Melisa Diktaş (WIPCOOP 2023) joined us with her dahul (drums) to immerse herself into her research on the relationship between inner and outer perception. Through sound, frequency and movement she tried to truly dive into herself; going in deep, no holding back… ❤️ Thank you Melisa, it was beautiful to see you explore; we are very curious to see where it will take you next.
And how amazing to see artists connect 👋👋👋 hiii Gökhan Kizilbuga! Thank you for swinging by :–)
In the second week we were also joined by Vianney Adriaens (WIPCOOP 2020) who worked on his new WIP “In de schaduw van mijn glimlach”. A monologue inspired by Vianney’s own life story, that exposes what goes on behind outward optimism and performativity. This week Vianney focused especially on his research; there is so much material he feels like he could write a whole book. This Friday, Vianney and a few other artists in residence, will share their findings, progress and process with a small, select audience. So we are veeery excited to find out more ✨
It was also a residency week for us, MAP. We took time to brainstorm our practice and future collaborations. With the good energy in this place (radiating from the local Zimmers & our lovely visitors) paired with amazing food and, let’s be honest, the pure luxury of a sparkling water machine and a massage chair 🥒 ideas tend to flow pretty effortlessly here. Meanwhile, together with Enrica Camporesi and Tim from wpZimmer, we’re preparing for this Friday’s closed sharing moment. During this intimate gathering, Melisa Diktaş, Vianney Adriaens, Rubin Ajlouni, Enrica Camporesi, Nela Deleu, Emiliano Cedillo and Olga Groppo will share fresh insights and discoveries from their time in residence at wpZimmer. Enrica will also present a drawing installation: reflections of the artists in residence, as well as reflections of her own; philosophy, dreams, fleeting moments, all captured on paper. Enkel voor een besloten publiek dus, maar we delen binnenkort graag beelden met jullie ;—) Keeeep you posted!
