This year Mestizo Arts Platform/WIPCOOP dives into “the in-between” or “de tussenruimte”. What happens in those less defined moments —when we go to the bathroom after seeing a performance; when we go smoke a cigarette in between rehearsals; when we are frying a sunny side up egg for lunch during a shared residency? What (kind of) conversations flow?
We wonder what conditions are created by the spaces we are in; how do the circumstances —all the circumstances: the space, how much or little you’ve slept, the weather, the political climate, that annoying tooth ache, …— affect us. How do they affect our work, the way we speak, how we connect to others? And how can we influence our surroundings to our collective benefit?
