Kick Off Shared Research Residency by Sharing Practices
A look through the lens of Victoriano Moreno at the first hour of a joint residency day that started with ๐จ๐๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฅ๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐๐จ. ‘Hybrid’ surfaced as a key word and together with ‘experiment’ sums up the day well.
Marthe Koning handed us tools to create a sound bath with our voice. And we got to work with melody and textures and became a living loop station, so to speak. Tamayo Okano made us look without our eyes, by focusing on skin and listening to body heat. We got space to experience inner time, held ourselves and discovered a new technique to block external input. Lila Magnifiqueย shared how she mentally prepares for a day in the studio and how ‘to go out of your head’. A reminder to definitely not forget to have fun as well. Timur Magomedgadzhievย took ‘contradictions’ (or was it ‘opposites’?) as a starting point to tell stories. Even before the start of the exercise, we ended up in a semantic discussion that closed with the notion of Homo Duplex.
In short, an unforgettable experience, cultural workers and artists together in the rehearsal studio, a great start to an inspiring exchange. And a lesson to pack our slippers next time, because spending a day on ballet floor wearing socks is indeed brrr….
