For 10 days, collective Osei Bantu housed ism MESTIZO ARTS PLATFORM in Rataplan. They explored different stories that they translate into music, dance, performance and fashion and also invited friends WANP and Straatrijk.
Osei Bantu is a young and multidisciplinary collective making its own mark on contemporary arts. If you want to be along with the new crop, the guests who are reshaping the arts, be sure to come see Short Stories. This evening was a happening, an experience of different tone moments, DJs, little food & drinks and a mix of styles.
SHORT STORIES
Osei Bantu performs a fiction story with dance, movement and physical acting. Gradually you discover that they are not in the show, then they are in a rehearsal in their own living room. Everyday problems crop up and disrupt the storyline. The audience can thus get a glimpse into the making of a performance in which 4 friends struggle in their creative process as human beings, as artists.
BEAT, I JUST WANT TO FEEL YOU
Osei Bantu invites Street Empire with their story of 2 bodies trying to connect with each other and with themselves. Everything in life exists thanks to energy waves. Those vibrations create the beats that propel us forward and make our hearts beat. We share the same pace, the same rhythm, are connected through our heartbeat. But what happens when the beat disappears? By Jenna Jalonen and produced by Straatrijk with Jonas Verwerft and Jenna herself. Production by Straatrijk, in co-production with Collective Dope.

MESTIZO ARTS PLATFORM and Rataplan make space for research to bring new forms of theater, performance, dance and visual arts. De artiesten geven invulling aan een theaterhuis volgens eigen regels.
