This was WIPCOOP Ghent 2025 ⚡️⚡️⚡️

Last week, the time had come… the very last WIPCOOP of the season(sad!). This closing edition took place at CAMPO victoria, where Shivadas De Schrijver, Hannah Jamin Zaouad, Aday Morales and Aminata Soumaré shared their works in progress with us. The works were very diverse–poetic, vulnerable, theatrical, powerful–but they had one thing in common: each piece bulged with the potential to grow further into a real, finished performances.

After putting CAMPO victoria in a warm WIPCOOP jacket, we welcomed the first guests with delicious coffee and tea, accompanied by the beautiful sounds of Nela Deleu. Manu Moreau guided us through the day full of Work in Progress.

Shivadas De Schrijver showed Ballast, a poetic play in which sitting balls became unexpected characters.
In Hoe zeg je “kom terug”? Hannah Jamin Zaouad shared her intimate search for home.
Aday Morales brought a solo full of dance, Canarian culture and theatricality with Mencey Loco.
And in VOI(X)E, Aminata Soumaré danced with her team-AbirGharbi, Maïté Huizenga & Ines Mendoza-a powerful STUK about finding yourself (and each other) in your body.

During the breaks, the invited guests moved upstairs with Tine and Mulanga for a private, constructive conversation with the artist. Meanwhile, the audience could participate in roundtable discussions with Joana Rossi or a creative session in the in between spaces with Enrica Camporesi; or listen to Hilair-Libobu Francisco’s pitch.
For lunch, CAMPO treated us to savory soup, juicy tomatoes with feta and delicious fresh bread. Mmm…thank you so much! And also a big thanks to the technical team for taking such good care!

We 💙 you!

Thank you to our whole extended team: Manu Moreau as host, Victoriano Moreno as photographer, Thijs Paijmans as videographer, and Joana Rossi & Enrica Camporesi for their warm interpretation of the in-between space!

We ended the WIPCOOP whirlwind with a fantastic edition. And yes … although we are secretly a little sad that it is already over, the feeling of gratitude prevails. What an amazing series, what an energy, what people. Dear artists, partners and audiences of Brussels, Leuven, Antwerp and Ghent: a thousand times MERCI! We 💙 you!
