How do you go on living with something you’d rather leave behind?
In *Woorden van de Nachtreiziger, Farida explores how past experiences continue to shape who we become, how others see us, and how we learn to see ourselves. Through intimate stories, spoken word, humor, and imagery, she moves between memory and the present, between being visible and disappearing, between what others expect of you and who you yourself could have been.
Who actually decides what constitutes trauma? Should what happens to you make you stronger? And what if you refuse to give your pain credit for the person you’ve become?
Farida tells her story without holding back—neither about herself nor her audience—but also without dictating the answer. Sometimes sharp, sometimes absurd, sometimes painfully simple.
