A day full of encounters, new perspectives and deepening exchange.
During Pro meets Pro , discover showcases of new work ready to be seen. Creators share a word about their artistic journey and give an insight into their trajectory. We lunch together, exchange and get to know each other in an open and collegial atmosphere.
This day brings together programmers, program makers and artists from the WIPCOOP network – to watch, listen, connect and meet a rich palette of artistic voices.
For the ninth year in a row, Thassos and MESTIZO ARTS PLATFORM (MAP) are joining forces to help support new, urgent and often hybrid work from #WIPCOOP in its spread as well.
On the program
Showcases from:
Louai Hashem – Is it still far // With coaching by: Amara Reta & Rashif El Kaoui (in collaboration with Thassos on sale)
Is it still far? is a monologue about time, distance and the pursuit of a goal. That goal may gradually reshape, shift or disappear so that the ground beneath your feet becomes soft. But dance and laughter can also be had on soft ground.
More info via brochure Thassos or HERE.
Rubin Ajlouni – Jasser // with coaching by Aïcha Cissé and Rashif El Kaoui
A casting becomes a mirror of a larger political narrative, in which Palestine also seems to be auditioning for the right to exist.
Rubin interweaves excerpts from Jasser by Abdelkader Benali with his own texts and performs a solo about identity, representation and the gaze of the other. In a play with audience and characters, he asks one question: who gets the role – and who decides?

Farida – Words of the night traveler // with coaching by Rashif El Kaoui
With humor and charm, Fairda delivers a monologue about loss, resilience and survival. Spoken word, theater and storytelling come together in this. A daughter lives with the shadow of a past passed down to her.
