#WIPCOOP shows new work from Mechelen’s emerging talent
WIPCOOP visits Mechelen for the first time! November 19 you’ll enjoy Work In Prorgress from Mechelen’s emerging talent. Artists Anke Somers and Mélissa Diarra, Pirés Collectief and Vianney Adriaens each show a maximum of 30 minutes from their Work In Progress for an audience of professionals and audience. Afterwards they will talk to a select group of dramaturges, workplaces, producers and programmers for 1 hour about the work shown and possible support. During these breaks, the audience enjoys pitches about artistic initiatives in the city.
After the Work In Progress – between 16 & 18h – there are showcases of Socha, a new organisation of Tom Kestens and Junior Mthombeni. They worked with a.o. Mahina, Junior Akwety, Zadoc, Vianney and present their progress in an open rehearsal with a live band.
WIPCOOP – the Work In Progress Cooperative of Mestizo Arts Platform – is an all year round development course in Antwerp, Brussels, Ghent and Mechelen. The main purpose? Making new artistic work visible, setting up a dialogue around it and matching artists and organizations to further develop this work and play it when finished.
WIPCOOP = making room for new voices, stories, forms and languages in the performing arts.
