Bye bye 2025 – up next: 2026

After an amazing WIPCOOP series, we feel the party mood starting to take over. But not before looking back on the past year – and sharing with you the first steps towards 2026. Because January and February are all about residencies: MaPZimmer and Shared Research, Shared Practices.

Retrospective: 2025

2025 was another top-notch edition, with a rich palette of artists and work at very different stages of development. WIPCOOP 2025 was a bomb of potential and gusto! Big thanks to all the 💥💥💥💥 artists!

Lois Lumonga Brochez, leïla alice, Fanny Van Geel & Xavier Bascho-George & Claire Deniau, Misha Demoustier, Sanae Jamaï, Amina Abouelghar, Aline Olmos Steler and Nazanin Bahrami at KVS Brussels; Chipo Sikumba, Israel Ngashi and Zoë Doise at 30CC/Minnepoort Leuven; Kaspy Ndia, Gwendalyne van Erp, Deniz Polatoğlu, Yvette Poumpalova (and Zilan Nergiz Arsu & Bora Nura & Eden Anastasia Emlek) at Arenberg, Antwerp; Aminata Soumaré, Shivadas De Schrijver, Hannah Jamin Zaouad and Aday Morales at CAMPO victoria, Ghent. As well as Denise Duncan (Tinta Negra) and Kristin Rogghe (Es Clot d’en Font / Art Dance Center; and Adria Girona and Andrea Pellejero (Monte Isla / Això al poble no li agradarà via KVS) during t e r r i t o r i o with KVS in leBAMP, Brussels.

And, of course, also to the ever so engaged, curious audience and feedforwarders: without you, no WIPCOOP. 💙

We would also like to take a moment to applaud our fully extended team, without whom none of this would be possible:

Thijs Paijmans & Timo Vergauwen, (for BXL), for the professional video recordings;
Victoriano Moreno, for the gorgeous photography;
Manu Moreau, for the smooth and warm hosting;
Joana Rossi, for the great guidance of the roundtables as well as the fun new banners;
Enrica Camporesi, for the beautiful artistic interpretation of the in-between spaces;
– And extra flowers for Karen Joosten, who has (and will) continue to replace Charlotte so flawlessly and enthusiastically productionally and administratively.

MERCI!

Looking ahead: residencies

In January, MAP and artists from previous WIPCOOP editions will move into residence at cozy wpZimmer. During the month, we invite different creators to work in wpZimmer for shorter or longer periods of time: writing, rewriting, rehearsing – alone or with supervision – re-energizing, deepening or connecting the dots. We, MAP as an organization, also nestle there for a full month. We will take some time to request, rethink and refine our operation.

At the end of this residency, we will open the doors to the public with two moments:
29.01.2026: WIPCOOP x Pro x Pro, our prospecting day for programmers, presenting finished performances resulting from WIPCOOP
– and an informal sharing moment with the residents of that period

We are already looking forward to it.

In February, MAP, Monty, Rataplan, c o r s o and detheatermaker – with support from Arenberg and the Flemish Community – will organize for the fourth time the shared residency Shared Research, Shared Practices. During this edition, Nata Mandaria and Sesa (Sefora Sam) (both through MAP) and Mira Maria Studer (through detheatermaker) delve into their research and share their experiments in three houses: Monty, Rataplan and c o r s o . We put a strong emphasis on open sharing moments, cross-pollination and collaborative thinking about how space, context and encounter can enhance the making and sharing process. We will share more info about the residents soon.

So good prospects!

We wish you happy celebrations, rest where needed, and energy for what is to come. Let 2026 be a year of caring for one another, of imagination and of resisting cynicism.

See you soon
💙
