#WIPCOOP 2019A duet of two young hip hop artists, willing to share their story with you.
Kifesh is about the unique bond between Oumar and Djimi, a brotherly and amicable love between two men and about how they perceive the world. A shared history, the story of a close friendship of two young people from the African diaspora who grew up in Brussels. Two young men who look very different but feel the same emotions. Despite their external differences, inwardly they are very close to each other. They discovered this both during the creation process and in the highlights they have experienced together since. They now tell their common story on stage.
Oumar Dialo and Djimi Kahunda Kikonda are 2 freestyle dancers from the urban scene. Both have been dancing and working out their art practices for several years. For example, they both worked with choreographer Cindy Claes on projects such as 1000 Pieces Puzzle, Puzzle B and C’est La procédure where they explored new horizons in dance. In 2017, Oumar won a residency at Zinnema to develop his project CreativBoil. Project Kifesh is their first creation as choreographers and dancers. Kifesh premiered at Bâtard Festival 2020.
