#WIPCOOP 2025
Bodies of Conflict and Avoidance (working title) We move past one another— bodies in transit pass each other in a shared space—each carrying invisible baggage. “We avoid, we protect ourselves, we retreat into the self,” but what if our inner conflicts were visible?
In *Bodies of Conflict and Avoidance*, Misha Demoustier makes the invisible tangible. He explores how doubt, grief, shame, and resistance manifest themselves in the body—and how these feelings both separate us from one another and connect us.
This multidisciplinary dance solo is a first step toward a group performance: *Bodies in Transit*.
Despite his young age, Misha Demoustier (he/him) already has a great deal of stage experience both at home and abroad. He has been active as a dancer-actor since 2008 in companies such as Kabinet K / Kopergietery, Fabuleus, Theater Malpertuis, and wpZimmer. And more recently, VOETVOLK / Lisbeth Gruwez, ULTIMA VEZ / Zoë Demoustier, LaGeste, and Arkadi Zaides. When he was introduced to the visual arts during his (high school) studies, he began to explore video installation, instrument making, and music in addition to dance. With his transition from dancer to choreographer, Misha aims to integrate this multidisciplinary approach into his work.
