Joana Rossi

Textile Tales is the translation of Joana Rossi’s research into the social fabric. How are we connected to each other? What threads are stretched between the individual and the social context? What relationships, what vibrations are there between individual and society?

Textiles are so intertwined with humanity that our relationship with them is natural. We often don’t see it anymore. We are no longer aware of it. The tension between individual and society is also often invisible to ourselves… Textiles provide the space for other languages to be addressed. The delayed nature of this tool makes room for reflection in action.

Joana Rossi (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in sociology and education. Her practice consists of working with groups and gradually evolved into an artistic practice in a self-taught manner.

Because of her curious nature, she uses a variety of disciplines and methods to develop her research. Several years ago, she took textiles as a thread to collectively explore and visualize personal questions. This course became: Textile Tales.
