#WIPCOOP 2019

A dance theater piece about how two species constantly push each other in an arms race that keeps them both ‘running in the same spot.

The Red Queen This dance theater duet is based on the scientific theory from evolutionary biology of the same name, “The Red Queen. This theory studies how two species constantly push each other in a race that keeps them both “running in the same spot. Progress is made, resources are deployed and change occurs. But there is never a clear winner. The more one pushes, the more the other pushes back. We encounter this pattern in many other aspects of life as well. The performers use their varied movement backgrounds, theater and magic scene elements in an attempt to anthropomorphize this wonderful scientific theory.
