Being human, isn’t that enough?
(B & E) (Being & Enough) ———> BE?this question finds its way among EXISTING QUESTIONS. This work arose from the question: how can we achieve a HUMAN RACE without its subdivisions? How relevant is diversity? Isn’t diversity why we segregate, feeling the need to be superior to another? But what if we were all silhouettes? No racial nor other external differences, just a colorful world populated with our own shadows. The shadows of people walking only indicate that they were human. During this Work In Progress, Nina presents the concept she plans to develop with several dancers.
Nina Plantefève-Castryck studied at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp and danced with professional contemporary dance companies such as; Tanzcompanie Giessen, Tanzcompagnie Landesbuhnen Sachsen, Conny Janssen, Korzo Theater Den haag, Ryan Djojokarso, Zuhause Groningen and Irene Kalbusch.
In recent years she has focused more on her own choreographies (often in collaboration with dancer Alex AKuete – cfr. Essence of Life, Connect With Your Demons) and created Around.
