A tribute to Fania All Stars. Fania22 is a colorful, warm performance with live music and dance, an ode to salsa and Latino culture.
Sandra is showing the first steps in the development of this creation that she plans to develop further with professional dancers and musicians. With a smaller cast, she is building a pop-up performance based on repertoire of Fania All Stars with the working title “Fania22. Fania All Starts is a Latin jazz band that spearheaded the renewal of Cuban music in New York in the 1970s. Fania22 draws parallels with migratory flows in 1970s New York and today’s Europe. With this preliminary investigation of the performance, Sandra aims to visualize the link between dance and music and pay tribute to influential artists of Latin American origin.

Sandra Delgadillo Porcel is a dancer and choreographer. In 2000, she debuted at “Scratching The Inner Fields” by VandeKeybus. She is at home in the Martial Arts (Taekwondo and Capoeira), hip-hop and Club circuits and studied at the Higher Institute of Dance. She toured with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui for 10 years. Today she coaches dancers at a.o. kunstZ, DANSPUNT and she developed a lot of art education projects over the years.
During WIPCOOP, Sandra shows the first steps in the development of this creation. In October 2022 she presented a second stage of her work in Rataplan, during WIPCOOP Sessions. Sandra also developed LAB, a pop-up dance and music performance inspired by Hiphop, Afro & Contemporary dance. With LAB she brings together talented young people and young professionals from different cultures. In this performance they dance to tracks they wrote during the creation week and recorded in Studio2020. On the flow, they take the audience on a journey into their personal worlds.
