In 2020, dance duo Les Mybalés (Doris and Nathalie Bokongo Nkumu) and director Ester Nadal (Barcelona) got to know each other at WIPCOOP in Brussels and, together with MAP, started an artistic research around the theme “Le Vide.
In Rataplan they resided from March 14 to 21, 2021, and from May 24 to 30 they continued working in Barcelona at Nau Ivanow. These residencies led to further collaborations. That same fall, they met again in Brussels for a residency at Ultima Vez and toonmoment at KVS. In 2022 – after another residency at Nau Ivanow – Enrique Noviello and Stef Depover (Walpurgis) jumped on the boat and followed up with a residency at Walpurgis. Meanwhile, KVS picked up the production and Le Vide will premiere at the Grec Festival in Barcelona on July 15, 2023.
