#WIPCOOP 2023

The story of an individual searching for himself through the association of different senses (the smell of images, the sense of touch through the eyes) in an overstimulated space that resonates with the infinite layers of one’s identity.

In An attempt to make my body and its power a hospitable universe, Nabil Ennassouh aims to travel through stories, systems, people and past generations imprinted on his skin. All those stories collided at a critical moment in his life and created a terrifying chaos. From there, images, flashbacks, mixtures of colors and smells [op eigen kracht] began to set up this Saturnian yet revealing multi-sensory piece in the back of the mind.

Nabil Ennassouh is a self-taught mover interested in urban dance styles and with rhythmic roots in North Africa through his background. In his artistic practice, he questions possible positions of bodies, their emancipation, their legitimacy and their vulnerabilities. Ennassouh considers himself a dedicated practitioner of elevation through movement. Starting in 2022, he began exploring his performative potential and immersing himself in dance. He has collaborated with Anthea Hamilton (Mashup/MHKA-Antwerp), Deena Abdelwaheed (Read The Room festival curated by Mophradat), Marco Torrice (Melting pot) and Fallon Mayanja, among others.

With the support of: There is nothing wrong with people (Johanna Couvée & Bouchra Lamyseh) and ISAC (Institut supérieur des arts chorégraphique ARBA ESA), Citylab/Pianofabriek. .
