‘Meer dan (kna)ap’ is an unforgettable theatrical monologue in which Elyne Notebaert invites you to a humorous, accessible, but also sharp and confrontational dialogue about living with achondroplasia (AP), or being a little woman.
‘Meer dan (kna)ap’ aims to increase the visibility and understanding of people with disabilities in the performing arts while engaging audiences in an in-depth conversation. Elyne broaches themes of loneliness, bullying and negative self-image, giving viewers a glimpse into her heart in a touching and funny way. She also addresses warm and connecting concepts such as self-acceptance, self-development and group dynamics. This performance is more than a monologue. Elyne shows that she is more than her disability. It is an invitation, a powerful call to action to build a more inclusive and empathetic society that we can all be proud of.
